sunscreen really doesn’t help much. Yeah you prevent a sunburn but the deeper layers of your skin are still getting dna damaging radiation. Our natural tanning created melanin is better able to protect the skin stem cells.
Better to slowly build up a protecting tan and like you said where a sun hat and after a while just sit under a umbrella.
I get about 20 to 45 minutes a sun every day. I tan in my underwear in my back yard. I seem to get sick much less since I started doing that about 2 years ago. I’ve also ate better and exercised more so it is hard to know exactly which thing is helping me get ill less.
All great points. I also like the name of the post which pathologizes the fearful attitude that people have.

lol that is a good account. I remember watching the movie they got this image from.
yeah sun is good I wanted to post about this
saw a reddit post recently with lots of people saying to make sure to put plenty of sunscreen on every day…
sunscreen can allegedly contain cancer causing chemicals
also blocks light on the skin so I imagine reduces vitamin d levels
I like covering up or avoiding too much sun instead of sunscreen personally
also read you can store up vitamin d for the winter? so good to get the sun in warm months (if you live in snowy areas)
lighter skinned people only need a little sun, darker skin could be out for longer I think
this is another thing that saddens me because I feel so many are being deprived of natural healthy sunshine
