Although Jellyfin promises to be a polished multimedia player for movies, TV shows, music, and books, I ran into some significant obstacles while trying to set it up.
I’m a big fan of kodi myself. I have about 2 terabytes of media on a rpi4 nas mounted via nfs on about 4 kodi clients and it works great.
I do use a shared mysql library so all clients get updates at the same time. Works pretty good.
I can see the use case for doing it in the browser. Browsers run everywhere. Compiling kodi for a new platform is sometimes a pain. It has like 40 dependencies.
