Yes, and more people defending and promoting the Rosary. I expected a bunch of modernist claptrap, but I was pleasantly surprised.

He certainly wasn’t my favorite, but he is really promoting the Rosary. He gained a bit of trust from me for that.

ok I got a few seconds in and judged the book by its cover as this may be a bit too quirky for me

but I have the message already with the title

but I came to mention the modernists created new “luminous mysteries” for the rosary which seems like a completely unnecessary change; some schizos also add that it makes 1/3 of that rosary (if you add that in) 66.6 beads

ember day today as well I think

The benefits of the Luminous Mysteries.

  1. They affirm the spiritual authority of the church. Christ gave the Church the authority to bind and loose things in Heaven and Earth.

  2. They affirm that the Church is alive and responsive to the times. There are many new devotions that have been added to the Church, the Divine Mercy Image for one. Divine Mercy Sunday is another recent addition to our Church. Christ walks with his Church and equips if for each new challenge. That is how the Rosary began in the first place.

  3. They are moments in Christ’s life that are worthy of devotion and meditation. The 5th Mystery is the institution of the Eucharist. In this age where only 25% of Catholics believe in Transubstantiation… Do you really want to argue that this mystery is superfluous?

The Church as Christ founded it is a hierarchical structure. It IS Christ’s body here on earth and if we are to belong to it, we must affirm all it teaches.

Is Satan in the Vatican? Yes. Is our current Pope undermining the faith? INMHO, yes.

There is real trouble coming. There is real Schism coming if it isn’t already here. If we deny what the Church is, if we refuse even part of the deposit of the faith then we have begun the process of separating ourselves from the Church. We have become protestants. Been there, done that. Not going back.

Christ gave the Church authority to administer HIS grace through the sacraments. The Church has the authority to save your soul. If the Church has the authority to save your soul, then they can add a set of mysteries to the Rosary.

I pray the Luminous Mysteries everyday. I thank God for his Church and that he has given us good popes in the past. I thank God that he walks with his bride and showers such lavish gifts upon her. I thank God that he forgives us when we go astray.

I think there’s more to the story here but since you pray them I can see I am personally critical of something that you like or hold dear

so to remember why I reject the luminous mysteries I plug in to a search engine “don’t pray luminous mysteries” and am reminded

for example of this link: https://trcthoughts.com/2014/05/the-luminous-mysteries-and-why-you-should-dump-them/

that the rosary was originally 150 beads to correspond to the 150 psalms that the priests would pray daily, which then developed in to the breviary cycle (the hail marys were supposed to be a shortening of each psalm for the average layman)

so the luminous mysteries basically break with this pattern, it’s being implemented in a completely anti-Catholic way

They also mention the rosary was given “complete already” as a kind of revelation to St. Dominic from Mary.

further the article mentions that one of the reasons why these mysteries were attempted to be added was because the rosary was “stale” or “incomplete” in some way; but it’s already complete, hasn’t gone stale, and there is no reason to innovate on it basically.

schizos also point out lucifer is the “bringer of light”, the luminous mysteries just being another nod to the “light bringer”

the comments also mention that in practice they have tried to replace the other three sets of mysteries with the luminous a lot of times

it also throws off a coordination with calendar and seasons: https://thavmapub.com/2018/08/10/why-dont-i-use-the-luminous-mysteries/

meditation on different readings from the liturgical season is good and fine: Meditations For Every Day In The Year (And How To Pray Them, First Published 1669?)

There is real Schism coming

It’s pretty much happened, Vatican 2 is heretical and these antipopes are schismatic. Luminous mysteries are only one of the many things that are problematic that I’ve posted about as you know. In themselves sure they’re based on traditional teachings, but it’s still a pointless attempt at innovation in my view.

We have become protestants

Well, as we’ve discussed, Francis calls Lutherans "brothers and sisters in the Faith" which puts protestantism on par with what would be Catholicism. Hence we reject him as being a kind of “ecumenical” protestant, and not Catholic, and not a pope, and the Church he leads as not being the Catholic Church.

If the Church has the authority to save your soul, then they can add a set of mysteries to the Rosary

True, it’s just that the problems within some of these things then suggest other issues (the defects in the luminous mysteries as mentioned above, make us wonder why a pope would give them, or suggest he is not a pope; just like “John Paul II” being canonized while having publicly given grave scandal with the inter-religious Assisi event which would suggest that he should not be canonized even if he saved his soul; and since canonizations are infallible, this then suggests Francis is not pope as he canonized someone whose saintliness is doubtful, making him a doubtful pope.)

Ultimately we reject the luminous mysteries because we reject their claim to the papacy on other grounds.

The One True Faith

  1. “I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt not have any gods before Me.”
  2. "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.”
  3. “Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day."
  4. “Honor thy father and mother.”
  5. “Thou shalt not kill.”
  6. “Thou shalt not commit adultery."
  7. “Thou shalt not steal.”
  8. “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”
  9. “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife.”
  10. “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s goods.”
